Large open-plan studios catering for both analogue and digital creative output. With Apple macs running industry standard software. The perfect environment for experimentation, reflection and production. A space where creativity is nurtured and allowed to flourish.

As one of our students, you have access to the unique facilities in the school, many of which are embedded into modules to allow for guided exploration.

All the usual design studio facilities are on hand:

  • Apple Mac computers with dual screens and Wacom drawing tablets
  • A wide range of industry standard software
  • Scanners
  • Cameras
  • Printers

Other facilities include:

  • Printmaking studios with photo-silkscreen, lino and etching processes/presses
  • A life drawing studio.

In Addition

Illustration students have access to professional photographic studios, screen-printing workshops and a specialist in-house digital printing service – the Print Support Hub.

Screen Printing Workshop

The Screen printing workshop contains 6 oversized A1 printing beds and a four-colour carousel for T-shirt printing.

Photo Studio

Massive double-height spaces, our coves have hosted fashion events, professional photographic events, and even a Formula 3 motorcar photoshoot! Lots of space for you to shoot, comfortable seating for clients and models, private hair & makeup studio with changing facilities make this a great resource.

Print Support Hub 

The Print Support Hub is a technically supported, open access area. It offers all School of Art students a range of specialist printers that are capable of printing onto a vast array of different materials.

Including:

  • A3 Risograph printer
  • 2 medium format high-end Epson printers (A4, A3, A3+ and A2)
  • Large format thermal lithographic printer
  • Large Format Mimaki textile printer
  • Large Format Mimaki textile printer

The room also offers two large format scanners that will scan artwork up to A0 size.
