The Chain Coral Chorus: Poetry Event with R.M Francis

  • When? 26 April 2023 - 26 April 2023 , 18:30 - 20:30
  • Where? Wolverhampton School of Art, George Wallis Building

Celebrating the publication of his most recent book, The Chain Coral Chorus, ArtsFest at the University of Wolverhampton invites you to this exciting event of poetry. In 2020, R. M. Francis became poet in residence for the Black Country Geological Society, writing works inspired by and set in the UNESCO Black Country Geopark.

His poems explore the region's spirit of place and place-identity through deep time and geological observation. At this event, Rob will share the poems and ideas that track this sublime and geopoetic vision.

R. M. Francis is a lecturer in Creative and Professional Writing at the University of Wolverhampton. He's the author of five poetry pamphlets, two novels and a collection of poems. In 2020, he became poet in residence for the Black Country Geological Society and his latest book of poems, essays and fieldnotes, The Chain Coral Chorus (Playdead Press) tracks his deep time explorations. He recently signed a publishing deal with Poe Girl Publishing for his upcoming collection of horror stories, Ameles / Currents of Unmindfulness.
