Social Purpose Hub

What is the Hub?

The Social Purpose Hub draws on the knowledge and research skills within the Faculty of Arts, Business and Social Sciences.

The Hub has been set up to respond to requests from local Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) organisations to deliver discrete activities that benefit the work of the organisation and the residents within the local community.

Students will work on the activities, either as individuals or in small teams, under the of supervision of academic staff.

What we offer

We offer support with activities to help local VCFSE organisations meet the needs of their service using communities. These could include:

  • Project work;
  • Data analysis;
  • Primary research;
  • Service evaluation;
  • Promotional materials.

How to get support from the hub

What we do not offer

We are not able to offer support for the delivery of large scale projects or for organisations who have funding for delivering services – unless that activity is reliant on the recruitment of volunteers, which our students could help with.

Please note there may be reduced capacity during the University's break periods.

Institute for Community Research and Development

If you have a budget for a larger piece of work our Institute for Community Research and Development may be able to help. Visit their website, or email: ICRD@wlv.ac.uk

If you need help with governance issues, WVCA can help:

“WVCA offers a full support service to the Voluntary, Community, Social Enterprise and Faith Sector (VCSEF). They can provide advice and guidance on setting up and managing a charity or non-profit, as well as helping you access funding and other resources. They can also help you find and connect with local volunteers, partners, and supporters. They will work with you to build meaningful and sustainable relationships with local organisations that help you make a real difference in the community and build long-term partnerships.”

Please visit the WVCA website for more information: VCSE Support | Wolverhampton Voluntary & Community Action or contact CommsHub@wvca.org.uk
