What is fashion? How fashion can be used? Fashion is an art, a place where all the designers can express themselves, express their emotions and all o their creative thinking. Fashion is the most general term and applies to any way o dressing, behaving, writing, or favored at any one time or place. As fashion designer I wanted my final collection for my final year on my university studies to be something meaningful, something that reflects to my personal experiences and life choices that made me the person and the fashion designer that I am today. My final collection is based on depression, sexuality acceptance and metamorphosis and I will explain why.

Firstly, depression is a common mental disorder that involves a depressed mood or loss of pleasure or interest in activities for long periods of time. Depression is something that I was really interested because in my teenage years I had fallen in that path due to some self discovering stuff. The discovering had something to do with my sexuality and personal desires. I did not want that part of me to come out and I didn’t want to accept that aspect about myself and that made really sad because I couldn’t accept and I was afraid that if people new about my secret, they would left me alone.

Secondly, sexuality acceptance was the 2 aspect I had chosen to research more about and I will explain why. Sexuality is about your sexual feelings, thoughts, attractions and behaviors towards other people. You can find other people physically, sexually or emotionally attractive, and all those things are a part of your sexuality.. I chose this aspect because I my sexuality played a big part of the creation of my final collection. As a bisexual person is was really interesting to find out that I was attracted to both genders. When I started realizing that I was bisexual my first thought was that I may be broken or something wrong was going on with me. But every bodies sexuality is diverse and personal, and it is an important part of who you are and nobody should hide it.

Furthermore, the third aspect that I had researched about is metamorphosis. Metamorphosis is a biological process by which an animal physically develops including birth transformation or hatching, involving a conspicuous and relatively abrupt change in the animal's body structure through cell growth and differentiation. The animal I had chosen to explore for this collection is frog because it relates to my own metamorphosis after coming out. Frogs are being born as tadpoles and then they hatch to this beautiful Amazonian frogs with different colours and skin pattern types. They present themselves and a very beautiful way and I wanted to include that in my research because after coming out I wanted be presentable in the world in a very different a beautiful way.

Lastly, my collection is all about accepting who you are as person, who do you want to be, and never to be scared about discovering yourself and feeling guilty for being who you are. Be proud, be you and feel free.
