"Skye Welsh, is a portrait fine artist who creates work is related to psychology topics. For her final year she has followed her younger, neurodivergent sister to try and get the audience to see her sister in a more domestic setting. She uses acrylic as her main medium on large scaled canvases."

A portrait artist based in the Black Country. My work consists of following my neurodivergent younger sister to witness her day-to-day life, identifying her struggles with anxiety while trying to show her personality of the bubbly and loud individual I get the privilege to see everyday when she is in her safe space. My aim is for the audience to see Angel's personality shine, allowing Angel who have a metaphorical voice through these fine art pieces.

I have been inspired by artist Caroline Walker and who captures glimpses of shop workers or closely observed portrayal of her mother. Unravelling the psychology of women in their daily lives. Following this I have taken multiple candid images of Angel to identify the emotional and mental side of her doing daily tasks.

Angel is my participant and my inspiration in this project, she has the influence over what I paint and what she would like the audience to see. She has been involved in the creative process by producing charcoal drawings alongside me, by choosing the background colour as the colour symbolises different feelings to her.

Together we have built a connection I have learnt so much more about how and what she goes through, her physical and emotional well being. By creating journal entries, I have had the honour of reading every thought and feeling that she has.
The reason for this project is I have always admired my younger sister, to me she is funny, unique and overall, an amazing person.
