"Samuel McCracken is a Transgender (He/Him), Neurodivergent Freelance illustrator/Artist and Educator based in Shropshire, West Midlands, UK. An avid fan of all things Drag, Legend of Zelda, and a dad to 3 cats, Bean, Bella & Buddy. Sam is open to working on murals, narrative/storytelling illustration, editorial works, and delivering workshops in schools/colleges/adult learning facilities."

While studying for his degree, Sam has explored his identity as a Queer person, with the desire to highlight LGBTQIA+ rights, and activism alongside raising money for LGBT+ Charities through some of the products available to purchase. With this, he strives to question what Illustration is limited to and just how far that title can be pushed.

He has also partnered with Juniper Training, The National Saturday Club, Arts Connect WM, The Wolverhampton CEP and the Royal Wolverhampton Hospital Trust Charity to plan, resource and deliver workshops aiming to allow children and young people to have a voice in spaces they may feel it isn't heard, and giving them a safe and positive environment for them to speak about the issues that concern them.

He has been shortlisted in the 2024 Student Union Awards for their Champion of Diversity award, alongside being shortlisted in the 2024 National Queer Student Awards for their Student Role Model of the Year award.

His artwork has been published in a children's book, My Brother Born Sleeping (2023), raising money for Red Nose Charities globally.

He is set to begin an Artists Residency with the NHS (The Royal Wolverhampton Hospital Heritage Trust Charity), exploring Art & Gender Care (July - August 2024), and upcoming works with the Queer Student Awards (2024).

His artwork has also been exhibited internationally, in New York, Paris and Tokyo (scheduled Feb 2025) with The Holy Art Gallery.
