Ollie Hartland (they/he), also known as Stegobean, is an illustrator and animator based in West Midlands, UK. Their work has a large focus on LGBTQ+ issues and celebrating everyone’s differences. They believe that everyone should have the freedom to express themselves however they want and this is reflected in their artwork. They aspire to create a sense of home and belonging to those who feel as though they do not belong in today’s society. Ollie has made animations deconstructing the concept of gender and how many people do not fit into the binaries that are forced onto them.

Ollie also has a background in music and has created the soundtracks for all of their animations to date.

Although one side of their artwork has serious meanings and undertones, there is also another side to their work. They also create cute and edgy artworks mainly composed of zombies participating in everyday life. These pieces are made from collaging stickers that were designed digitally together to create chaotic scenes.
In 2021, Ollie opened Stegobean Shop on Etsy, and has been steadily growing since. They create all of their own products including stickers, badges, prints and more. They have also run many in-person print stalls with their peers to raise money for their degree show. They hope to scale up in the near future and sell in larger craft fairs and also rent shelves in shops to reach a larger audience.
