"Kiefer Cottrell began his adventure into illustration in 2021 joining his illustration course at Wolverhampton University after previously completing A-Levels in in Fine Art and Art Graphics. He has entered multiple challenges such as Inktober and the Penguin Design Awards. Kiefer is looking to further his education by doing a Masters degree at the Uni over the next 2 years. He has a very clear and distinctive style but loves to experiment, with some of his work in realistic portraits, comic style drawings, large abstract pieces and digital geometric art."

Hi, my name's Kiefer Cottrell and I am a West Midlands U.K. based illustrator. My work mainly features themes of horror, sci-fi, fantasy and animals. With my work, I aim to push boundaries, be that through super-sizing my work, changing peoples perspectives on reality or developing stomach-churning characters. Through my time illustrating, I have found my favourite thing to draw has always been dinosaurs and pre-historic creatures. I have used this in many of my projects, both personal and as part of my degree.

Although I have my own unique style, I love to try new things and branch my work into other styles such as: realism, graphic, comic, geometric, concept art and abstract. I believe that art is personal and should be made by people, for people. The rise of Artificial Intelligence is dangerous and will destroy the creative community if we allow it to. I believe artist should support and promote each other in these difficult times.
