"My name is Imogen Whittle, I am a skilled artist with experience in various medias. I have been painting professionally for seven years and have always been interested in painting as I am continuously working to improve my skills and experiment with different styles, techniques, and medias to extend my repertoire. I have experience in displaying my work in multiple galleries and creating art that represents deeper meanings or experiences."

As a Fine Artist, I predominantly work in acrylic and oil paints; I also have an interest in biro and pencil drawings. Sometimes I create photography series, projection work and collages. As an Artist I have various methods and medias of creating art, depending on the project, I have created Abstract, realistic, collages, photographed work.

Previously, I have studied at Stourbridge college, Dudley college for two Art and Design Diplomas. University of Wolverhampton, School of Art has been my location of study for a Fine Art Degree, as well as two exhibitions. I have also exhibited in Newhampton Arts Centre where I produced a large piece of artwork representing the project of Abandonment.

My preferred way of creating art is paintings and drawings of various sizes, my largest painting being four feet tall. However, I do challenge myself and broaden my skills by using other materials. For example, I have created art using; doors, clay modelling, cement, chains, food, teddy bears, printing, handmade camera, acrylic etc…

Still life Artist Youqing Wang and Tanya West are my major influences, as I find the style of painting and meaning behind both Artists work interesting in relation to my own practice. I frequently research various Artists to expand my knowledge and develop my skills further.

Currently, my project is about representation of how overwhelming Woke LGBTQIA+ Ideologies can feel. I have a theme of creating projects around tackling subjects that involve emotions and complexities, such as Psychotic disorders, Abandonment, Questioning Ideologies and conveying representation on confusing topics. What most interests me is picking apart a complex topic and creating in depth research, interviews, reflections and represent my journey of understanding into my Artwork to then display my final outcome into Exhibitions.
