Ruth Elle Price

"I am a designer graduating from the University of Wolverhampton specialising in Surface Pattern and Textiles Design. I have a strong passion for colour, shape and movement within my work. My designs vary in elements and textures with the desire to provoke a visual and tangible experience for the audience, with carefully selected processes and components to create the most successful finishes. With a flair for both hand rendered and digital processes, each motif that is created is well thought out, considered and developed to create new, exciting design fit for purpose. My handwriting has adapted to both interior and fashion related topics through hours of practice and hard work. I manage my time successfully through multiple projects and always ready for a stimulating challenge. I am a conscientious, diligent and friendly individual that loves to work in a team but can also have the initiative to work alone. I am always eager to develop my skills further and learn in this thriving industry."

This year I have flourished and developed as a textiles designer. My main aims for my Final Major Project were to advance my knowledge of mediums and become more confident in my ability to produce high quality work.

'Where Food Takes You' is a headscarf project which explores the feeling of nostalgia and combines this with the use of experiences and food. The project was created to help combat a feeling of loneliness, using my designs to help transport individuals to a safe, comforting place. The fine beautiful fabric used, incorporated with the delicacy of my illustration drawings have helped create a luxurious final outcome. I am incredibly proud of my achievements and believe that my headscarves will make others as happy as myself.
