Jessica Cadden

"Jessica is autistic but also has a few other conditions which influence her ideas and how she creates the art she makes. She's also had some life changing experiences to use as inspiration. She enjoys helping people whether it's physically helping them or through her art work and appreciates when people express that too her too."

Jessica's practice is usually a reflection on what is going on in her life, how she’s feeling, as well as a way for her to process her thoughts and emotions, so it’s constantly changing, adapting, improving and shows how she grows as a person. She usually makes art for her own enjoyment and if others who view it enjoy and/or relate to her work as well then, she sees that as a bonus. She uses a range of media such as pencil, paint, yarn (in the form of crochet), and recycled materials/objects to create unique sculptures and canvas pieces. All her pieces are very different, but one thing is for sure, they are all full of colour and are created with passion, feeling and a sharp eye for the details which most people would not think twice about. Her inspiration comes from life around her and less from other artists, because of this, her pieces are all very unique and stand out.
