"Hi I am Elle , I am a 21 year old contemporary artist who specialises in watercolour paintings . I enjoy exploring different colours within my work and exploring different situations in which having a child can impact your day to day life. I have explored art from GCSE level to college and then onto university and have loved every minute of it . Being passionate about your art is how you succeed."

Elle Costin is a contemporary artist from Wednesbury who specialises in watercolour paintings. Costin explores themes of motherhood and Postpartum pregnancy and the feelings around motherhood and what people perceive motherhood to be vs the reality of what motherhood looks like , motherhood and pregnancy involves women’s bodies changing to carry this human being inside of their wombs , possible stretch marks and weight gain. Costin uses her own personal experiences of being a young mom to a two year old daughter to help fuel her creativity within her artwork. Costin quotes:

“As I’ve grown as a first time mom, my artwork has also grown with me.“

Costin explores the pregnancy bump, the way women’s bodies change and how becoming a parent and having a child impacts the environment around you.
