Dylan Shane

"My name is Dylan Shane and I am a photographer who's studied in Wolverhampton for the past 3 /4 years and live in Birmingham. I'm a transgender man and believe art is important way to educate and create visibility for communities who need to be uplifted. I plan to continue to do this through my work even after university."

My work encompasses a wide range of things from flowers and landscapes to portraits. But most importantly I believe it is paramount to stand up and fight for what you believe in, whether that mean going out to protests to support your comrades or using your art to raise awareness. Therefore, Within my most recent artwork I aim to both educate and show visibility of both the trans and queer community. The current violent climate and views on trans people specifically within society and the governments use of us as political pawns has only made my work, and others alike, more and more important. My personal projects mean a lot to me and I enjoy lifting up and exposing people to my own community as I am a proud transgender man.
