"I am a glass artist, coming to the end of studying at the University of Wolverhampton, I specialize in both glass blowing and architectural glass making. I take pleasure in creating glass works that are influenced by my own experiences and the emotions and feelings that follow. I use glass as my artistic medium, I intend to convey my emotions and experiences through my work, and I strive to create works that people can relate to. I am motivated to pique the curiosity of viewers and encourage them to listen to the story the glass is telling, hoping that the glass work engages the viewers."

I create decorative glass sculptures using both hot glass techniques such as glass blowing and architectural glass techniques such as sandblasting, hand painting with enamels and kiln-formed glass. I like to make glass sculptures that tell a story to the viewer.

This project is called ‘ALONE’ this body of work is about feeling alone in your mind and experiencing feelings of loneliness, melancholy and isolation. The term ‘alone’ is defined as having no one present and being separate from others. To me ‘Alone’ is a feeling, an internal emotion, something that can present in our minds that can materialise and affect our external emotions and actions.

Throughout this project I used a collection of collages that include a figure, a forlorn figure, head hung low looking sad and dejected to represent this lonely feeling and the idea of feeling lonely when surrounded by people. Each Glass piece is inspired by a collage; I used elements for the paper collages like the colours and the sad figures to depict a unique perspective of the theme of loneliness.

I hope this project resonates with the viewers and provides a sense of empathy and understanding for those who feel alone, I want this project to give a source of comfort or solace for those who experience loneliness. Or I would just like these glass sculptures to evoke a sense of curiosity and intrigue the viewers to the story each glass collage provides.
