Living Well Across the Life Course

This research cluster has adopted a life course approach to the promotion of healthy lifestyles and prevention of ill health and chronic disease. In contrast to a disease-oriented approach (that typically focuses on one condition at one life stage), a life course approach places emphasis on key stages, settings, and transitions where opportunities for promoting health and wellbeing exist. Accordingly, this research cluster currently encompasses projects with children and young people, reproductive-aged women, and older adults.

Current research areas include:

  • Health, education, and active lifestyles (HEAL) in Children.
  • Living Well with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).
  • Ageing and Sarcopenia - Faster, Higher, Older – multidisciplinary research into the effects of age-related sarcopenia.
  • Smoking and vaping in our region (SAVIOUR)
