Centre for Applied and Inclusive Health Research

Our vision is to develop, promote and inspire health research that is designed and delivered to address societal and practice challenges to improve health outcomes and practice through inclusive, world-class health research, and research-inspired teaching.

Our primary focus is to develop and deliver research that can improve the health and wellbeing of our diverse population, reduce health inequalities and advance health care professional practice. Health inequalities refer to unfair and avoidable differences in health between different groups within our society. The lack of representation of these groups within health and social care research contributes to having significantly worse health outcomes and experiences. Our inclusive focus to health research is to ensure that it is representative of our heterogeneous population and health care professional groups, using coproduction and inclusive research methodologies and knowledge exchange activities to generate applied knowledge.
