The University of Wolverhampton has added some comic relief to its Honorary Graduate awards by recognising the talent and achievements of a world-renowned stand-up comedian.

He has toured the UK with a new show every year since 2011, is a regular at the Edinburgh Fringe, and has performed on numerous much-loved TV shows including Live at the Apollo and The John Bishop Show.

Tom said: “Wolverhampton will always have a special place in my heart.  It had such a profound effect on how I saw my new home here in the UK. I can’t stress enough how much I love the beautiful people of the Black Country.  They welcomed my family and myself with open arms and shaped my view on what a wonderful, diverse, funny country this truly is. To be honest I’m a little surprised but absolutely so honoured that you even considered me for this wonderful award but most importantly you made my mother super proud.”
