Big Screen School launch for Wolves' new kit

21/07/2023

Premier League football team Wolves recently set up in the University of Wolverhampton’s Screen School to utilise its technical facilities to film their kit reveal media for the 2023/24 season.

The Premier League team filmed both their home and away kit launch videos in the University’s £5M Screen School, making use of the state-of-the-art facilities that include a large TV Studio, a motion capture suite and other key teaching spaces such as the University’s game design labs and professional recording studios.

Throughout a day-long shoot, the University welcomed members of both the Wolves men’s and women’s first team, along with the club’s media department and chosen film crew.

The University has been a long-standing partner of Wolves and is proud to work with the club to offer a number of unique experiences for hundreds of students including work placements leading to full-time roles, stadium tours, and play-on-the-pitch experiences at Molineux.

Dr Pritpal Sembi, Head of the Screen School at the University said: “It was very exciting to see all our Screen School spaces being used by industry professionals in the way we intended. Multiple crews concurrently shot video in all studios, conducted interviews in the radio suite and captured social media in our gaming area.

“Seeing external professionals, and their equipment, interfacing seamlessly with our Screen School verified absolutely that our investment has been sound for the future of creative industries in the region. Feedback from all stakeholders was very positive and nurturing such connections can only be positive for our profile and our students.”

The £5m Screen School provides flexible and modern teaching spaces, presenting students with opportunities to develop specialist screen skills aligned to courses and opportunities to work in interdisciplinary teams on professional outcomes and live briefs with the support of a creative agency or student production house.

I want to thank everyone at the University for their continued support and sincerely hope that our progressive collaboration continues to inspire young people to work in the creative industries.”
