Students have designs on success at annual fashion show
University of Wolverhampton Fashion & Textiles degree students have designs on success at their end of year graduate Fashion Show.
Seventeen graduating students showcased their work, alongside first and second year fashion students, at the Arena Theatre on Tuesday 7th June 2016.
Students worked alongside professional and amateur models to stage the annual show which this year was a unique collaboration with the Arena Theatre offering a fusion of contemporary arts interspersed with other performances as part of the wider Artsfest celebrations.
Michael Rutley, Senior Lecturer in Fashion & Textiles at the University of Wolverhampton, said: “This year some of the work focused on elegant simplicity with an emphasis on sophisticated lines. Other students have been more playful in their designs.
“The work reflects contemporary lifestyle with the some of the outfits being designed for multiple purposes, offering garments that are adaptable and which fit into a flexible wardrobe. The show this year, which has been designed in conjunction with the Arena Theatre, is not just about fashion – it was a fabulous collaboration and a fusion of contemporary arts across the board.”
