Recognition for excellent research
The University has retained the European Commission HR Excellence in Research Award, it was announced this week.
A high profile panel reviews the University and makes the award based on a submission of plans and progress.
Professor Ian Oakes, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and External Engagement), said: “Research is at the heart of everything the University does and there is a constant drive for discovery and innovation. We delighted that this has been recognised by the European Commission and we will continue to build on this success."
The award raises the profile of the University and the HR Excellence in Research logo is a sign that the University supports researchers, which can help attract high calibre international candidates. A main driver for the initiative is to ensure that Europe is an attractive place for researchers from all over the globe.
The award can demonstrates a commitment to good working conditions and career development for researchers. It can also add value to funding applications.
The University of Wolverhampton conducts high profile research into areas such as brain tumours, linguistics and art and design.
