Find out more about volunteering
A Volunteer fair will take place on Wednesday 27 October 2010, in the Students’ Union, MD Building at City Campus, Wolverhampton, between 11am until 3pm.
The event is being organised by the University’s Active Volunteers as part of CSV Make a Difference Day. There will be opportunities to talk to charities and organisations such as the West Mercia Police Specials, British Red Cross, the National Trust, STEMNET, Sandwell MBC and St John Ambulance.
Representatives from the University’s Careers and Employment Services, Active Volunteers and Students’ Union will also be on hand to offer advice.
Lynn Banks, Active Volunteers Co-ordinator, said: “Volunteering offers an excellent opportunity to gain new skills and experiences as well as giving something back to the local community.
“Students will be able to speak to over 20 different organisations that offer volunteering opportunities, such as the Probation Service, Kic FM, Citizens Advice Bureau and the Scouts.”
