The course has been developed following the success of another part-time
foundation degree in Project Management, which is also run jointly. Students are based at the College initially and then University in the second half of the course. They also have the opportunity to ‘top-up’ to a Bachelor of Arts degree with the University after completing their foundation degree.
Senior Lecturer at the , Richard Williams, said: “This new course has been developed with input from businesses, who feel that there is demand for a part time programme. A large amount of the course is work based, enabling people to fit it around their other commitments and offers a low cost opportunity to continue to a BA (Hons) degree."
School Leader for Business at the college Jo Ann Cairns said: “Having successfully run a full time foundation degree in Business and Management with the University, we felt that we should build upon this success by offering a part time equivalent while at the same time offering a Higher level qualification for Business.”
The course includes modules in project management, competition, e-business and technologies, marketing, finance and human resources. The part time course takes four years to complete and two years when studied full time.
