The eight students will perform at ArtsFest in Birmingham’s Chamberlain Square on Saturday, 13 September 2008, at 6.30pm.
Internationally renowned choreographer Rosie Kay created a new 20-minute piece for the students, titled Double Point: Wolf. This premiered during theInternational Dance Festival in Birmingham this summer, and the University of Wolverhampton students were the only undergraduates to perform.
Frances Clarke, Course Leader and Senior Lecturer in the Dance Department, said: "This has been a wonderful opportunity for our students to help create a dance work with one of the UK's leading choreographers and to work in professional performing arts environments.
“The eight students performing in this piece have come from different dance backgrounds and a number of them are studying other subjects at the University as well as Dance. This is a testimony to their hard work, commitment, and vision.”
ArtsFest celebrates the wealth of creative talent in the West Midlands and promotes the region as the bustling cultural centre.
