The A-Level design show at the University of Wolverhampton gives Year 12 and 13 students the opportunity to showcase their work. This year’s show on Thursday, 1 May and Friday 2 May 2008 will feature work from students at Wednesfield High School, St Peter Collegiate School and Coppice Performing Arts School in Wolverhampton.
The University’s School of Engineering and the Built Environment’s Architecture and Product Design department will be sponsoring three £50 prizes for the best project in each of the three categories – Design and Technology, Resistant Materials and Graphics with Materials Technology
Phil Harris, Director of Recruitment and Lifelong Learning, said: “We are delighted to give A-Level students the opportunity to showcase the best of their work in a range of disciplines, including product design, textiles, food and electronics.”
This is the second time the University has hosted such an event, which is organised with Leanne Evans, Head of Technology at Wednesfield High School. Last year 50 students exhibited.
This year’s show will take place in the Millennium City Building at City Campus on May 1 and May 2. The prize giving ceremony will take place at 7pm on May 1.
