Mental health awareness week 2024

It is Mental Health Awareness week and this years theme revolves around the power of movement to enhance our mental health and the university has a number activities running this week, Get Moving for Mental Health Awareness Week!

Alongside research on the importance of physical activity for mental health you can also discover a variety of resources in the library to help ‘Find your moments for movement 

 

 

Examples of resources include; 

Mental Health and Physical Activity is a journal focusing on the relationship between mental health and physical activity publishing since 2008. The latest issue includes an article focusing on a study of how many UK universities offer physical activity based interventions to improve mental health and wellbeing of students.

SPORTDiscus, an exciting and expansive database that is a crucial resource for any and all sports and sports medicine students here at the University of Wolverhampton. The database contains full text articles for many journals, magazines, and conference papers, hundreds more abstracts, and videos. A perfect place to start research in the topic of sport science and exercise as the search can be simultaneously targeted in topic (only those relevant to your research) and broad ranging (all the articles held on SPORTDiscus and those held in the Wolverhampton Library catalogue and any open access journals).

MINTEL provide market reports written by experts on a variety of topics including the exercise market in the UK. This report provides an in-depth look at the exercise market by analysing exercise and fitness trends, consumers’ behaviours and attitudes.

Dance Online: Dance in Video is a valuable resource for academic research in dance providing videos of performances, interviews and some instructional material
