Library ‘Click and Collect’ Self-Service Kiosk at Springfield
We are happy to announce that we have installed one of our Library Self-Service Kiosks at Springfield!
Instead of plodding across the ring road to the main campus, students can now select Springfield as a collection site for books they request from LibrarySearch (the library catalogue). Students will be notified by email when their books are ready to be collected from the shelves opposite the new kiosk.
Students just scan their books on the self-service kiosk before taking them away.
And to return books, students simply re-scan their books and drop them in the secure Book Returns box.
It may take a day or two longer to supply items to Springfield because of the frequency of deliveries - but we hope that the service will be a boon to students who spend much of their time there. (Unfortunately, we can’t make Inter-Library Loans available for collection at Springfield at this point).
The new self-service is thanks to the library collaborating closely with the School of Architecture & Built Environment in supporting students at Springfield. The library will also be running skills support drop-ins again this semester, on alternate Mondays and Wednesdays,12-2 pm, in the foyer of Springfield.
