Join us for an event showcasing and celebrating the achievements of disabled individuals, on Tuesday 3 December in the new Student Life Centre.

UK Disability History Month, which runs from 14 November - 20 December, is an annual observance of the history of the disability rights movement, paired with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Tuesday 3 December.

The University's Accessibility, Disability and Inclusion team, alongside the Students' Union Disability Liberation Rep, will be hosting an event on Tuesday 3 December, 10 am and 2 pm in the Student Life Centre within Ambika Paul (MD) Building, to showcase and celebrate the achievements of disabled individuals.

Join us for “Access All Areas: Past, Present, and Future” an event dedicated to celebrating and advancing disability inclusion. This event will bring together students, academics, professional services staff and advocates to explore the rich history, current challenges, and future opportunities in the realm of accessibility. Through inspiring talks from both staff and students to share experiences, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities, participants will gain valuable insights and tools to foster a more inclusive environment in their communities and beyond.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and be part of a movement that champions accessibility for all. Whether you’re a student, professional, or ally, “Access All Areas” promises to be an enlightening and empowering experience. Join us in shaping a more inclusive future!

In the meantime, take the chance to visit the UK's first Higher Education Cubbie, installed within the new Student Centre. Speak to a member of the Student Life desk to showcase the immersive sensory space that helps regulate sensory stress through professional, tailor made programs.
