Join us at the University of Wolverhampton for an unforgettable celebration of South Asian Heritage Month.

The University of Wolverhampton is proud to celebrate South Asian Heritage Month, embracing this year's theme, "Free to Be Me." We invite everyone to join us in celebrating and learning about the rich and diverse South Asian heritage. This month, we will host a series of events and activities that highlight the vibrant cultures, histories, and contributions of South Asian communities.

Come and be part of this celebration as we honour the legacy and experiences of South Asians and encourage a deeper understanding and appreciation within our University community. Guest speakers include Dr Shani Dhanda, Dr Mashuq Ally, Mahuya Kanjilal and more!

This invitation is open to all staff and students.

Art Workshop: Discover the Beauty of South Asian Art! 

Location: Walsall Campus, WN010 

Time: 10am-2pm

Immerse yourself in the vibrant colours and intricate designs of South Asian art in this hands-on workshop. Learn about the rich cultural heritage and artistic traditions of South Asia while creating your own masterpiece. 

Workshop highlights: 

  • Introduction to South Asian Art Styles: Gain insight into the diverse and rich artistic traditions of South Asia. 
  • Hands-on art activities: Engage in creative activities with paint, guided by experienced instructors. 
  • Guided instruction: Receive step-by-step guidance to help you create your own art pieces. 
  • Networking: Connect with fellow art enthusiasts and share your passion for creativity. 
  • Refreshments and snacks: Enjoy complimentary refreshments and snacks during the workshop.
