Your curriculum will cover the biomechanical, physiological and psychological influences on human performance, examining exercise, health and sport. Practitioners will use this fundamental knowledge and an awareness of functional anatomy to tackle current issues in the world of sport and physical activity, crafting initiatives to encourage public health on local, national and international levels.

We look for A-level grades BBC or CCA and above, where at least one A-level result should be in a Science subject; examples could include Applied Science, Biology, Human Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Environmental Science PE or Psychology. A full-time course lasts 3 years, while a part-time lasts 6 years. Start dates for full- and part-time courses fall in September 2023.

Yes – after you have applied for and been offered a place on the course, you will be invited to apply for the scholarship.

Scholarships of £10,000 are available to students enrolled on this course, prioritising female, black and disabled students. All students with a firm offer for the course will be invited to fill out a scholarship application.

The course is endorsed by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA), making sure that graduates meet the needs of professional employers. It is also recognised by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) for the purposes of endorsement by the BASES Undergraduate Endorsement Scheme (BUES).
