BA (Hons) Digital Marketing Management is a 3-year marketing course. Each year is comprised of two semesters and every semester contains two 30 credit modules. As we focus on employability, we aim to teach you the marketing skills which marketing employers are looking for in a marketing graduate.
This undergraduate degree enhances your knowledge and experience in business and marketing across several core areas of study and development:
Basics of marketing
You start your marketing course learning the basics of marketing management. Similarly, in all other further modules you will explore key marketing and management theories and their application in order to solve real-time business issues, such as website development and design, search engine marketing (SEM), search engine optimisation (SEO), content marketing, consumer behaviour, green and ethical marketing, data analytics, management and leadership, and finally digital marketing.
Marketing tools
The marketing industry is heavily relying on marketing tools to make internal and external processes seamless. We have embedded some of these key marketing tools into our modules to prepare you for the industry, such as content management systems (CMS), search engine optimisation (SEO) tools, keyword analysis tools, email marketing tools, advertisement tools, social media management tools, marketing research tools, data analytics tools and search engine tools.
Key marketing skills
We are fully aware of marketing trends and expectations of marketing employers. According to the CMO survey and the Chartered Marketing Institute, marketing experts think that website optimisation, digital media and search, direct digital marketing to customers, data analytics, MarTech systems/platforms, online experimentations and/or A/B testing, customer relationship management (CRM) and user experience are some of the key marketing skills.
Networking
We have strong links with the industry and there are many businesses working with us. We also have some consultancy style modules where you get to work with real-time businesses as a marketing student to solve their real-time marketing issues. Moreover, we also invite marketing experts in our modules to talk about key marketing issues in the industry. These modules help you network with marketing experts. This networking brings a lot of opportunities for you in the form of jobs, work placements, and internships.
Online personal branding
In your final year you will develop your own online personal brand with the use of social media platforms. This part of the course helps you identify the industry route you want to take, your strengths and weaknesses, career opportunities, competition in the industry, development of your online presence and finally set your short-term and long-term objectives.
The IoD Student Mentoring Scheme
A fantastic opportunity for our final year marketing students to join a mentoring scheme connected to the IoD (Institute of Directors) to help you get ahead on the career ladder. You will be able to get advice and encouragement from a senior manager, director or chief executive.
