Aspiring Apprentices Programme

This free 6-week programme is suitable for current employees, or college/Sixth Form leavers, who are interested in a higher level apprenticeship but feel apprehensive about applying and would benefit from support.

Using the Skills Builder framework, the programme will focus on essential skills relevant to beginning an apprenticeship in higher education. Support and guidance will be available regarding Maths and English.

The Aspiring Apprentices course offers a bespoke 6 week programme exploring essential skills such as speaking, listening and staying positive all vital for degree apprenticeship candidates who want to advance their knowledge, skills and career prospects. Working in partnership with Skills Builder, the programme will provide students with an opportunity to develop their skills and prepare for progression into a degree apprenticeship.  Students will take part in a variety of activities hosted both online and in person with an opportunity to visit a university campus.

The Aspiring Apprentices course aims to support employed adults by addressing some of the concerns and apprehensions they may have that prevent them from embarking upon a degree apprenticeship.  The course will focus on building strong foundational knowledge, recognising existing skills, and boosting their confidence. The course is delivered flexibly to suit work commitments with online sessions offered alongside an opportunity to visit a university campus.
