If you have applied to study a degree course with a foundation year at the University of Wolverhampton then in many cases you will be invited to attend a Prepare for Foundation Assessment Day.
Method: Prepare for Foundation Year Assessment Days will be On-Campus for those wishing to start in 2025.
On-Campus Assessment Days:
- Wolverhampton City Campus: The Rosalind Franklin(MB) Building, Wolverhampton City Campus, WV1 1LY.
- Walsall Campus: The Samuel Johnson (WN) Building, Walsall Campus, WS1 3BD.
Assessment Day preparation- Important Information
Pre-assessment day tasks required:
- Have a form of identification (e.g. passport, driving license, etc.) ready to present on arrival.
- You are required to complete an online written task before attending the day. We ask that you write in as much detail as per the word count specified in each section of the written task. Unfortunately, you cannot attend your booked session if you do not complete the Prepare for Foundation task 24 hours before your arrival.
- Complete the written task here!
- For our Art and Design Foundation year courses, you must also provide a portfolio showcasing your creative ability. Further guidance can be found via the Art Design pages via Interview and Portfolio Guidance.
- Do you know enough about the course you have applied for? Research information about the course and visit our open days where you can come and speak to our staff and students www.wlv.ac.uk/opendays.
- The day starts promptly at 9am, so please ensure that you allow plenty of time to travel to the campus and building where you are asked to arrive. As this is an assessment event you will be required to arrive on time, we will not permit any latecomers.
- We expect applicants who have been asked by Admissions to attend a Prepare for Foundation Assessment Day, failure to attend will result in your application being deemed unsuccessful.
- SOme courses require an interview as part of the Prepare for Foundation Year Assessment day, read below for more information.
Courses requiring Assessment Day and Interview
- If you have applied for BMid (Hons) Midwifery with Foundation Year, and have passed the main part of the assessment day, you will be required to have an interview with the Midwifery team from 3pm on the day. You will be granted an offer on the course only by passing the assessment day and interview.
Please note if you have applied for any of the following courses, then if you pass the main part of the assessment day, you will be invited to attend an online interview with the course team within 48 hours after you have attended the assessment day, not on the same day. You will be granted an offer on the course only by passing the assessment day on-campus and interview online. This applies ONLY to:
- BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy with Foundation Year
- BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science with Foundation Year
- BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy with Foundation Year
- BSc (Hons) Podiatry with Foundation Year
Any courses not mentioned above, do not require an interview as part or in addition to the assessment day.
After attending your assessment day, for Nursing and Midwifery routes you will be notified within 5 working days whether you've passed. If you are successful, your offer will be officially confirmed via UCAS within 14 working days.
If you have applied for any of the following courses, then if you have passed the main part of the assessment day, you will be invited to attend an online interview with the course team within 48 hours after you have attended the assessment day, not on the same day. You will be granted an offer on the course only by passing the assessment day on-campus and the interview online. Then you will be notified within 5 working days whether you've passed. If you are successful, your offer will be officially confirmed via UCAS within 14 working days. This applied to:
- BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy with Foundation Year
- BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science with Foundation Year
- BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy with Foundation Year
- BSc (Hons) Podiatry with Foundation Year
If you’re unable to attend your assessment day, you can decline your date/time via e:Vision up to 48 hours before your selection event and you must then log a helpdesk call to request a new date or withdrawal.
