I currently teach and contribute on social work modules covering sociology, social policy, communities in context and children & families law and practice across the MA and BA programmes. Proceeding this I worked in a variety of children and family and youth justice social work settings as a support worker, social worker, senior social worker and manager. Prior to returning to education as a mature student and in-between experiencing periods of unemployment, I worked in a variety of manual settings including factory worker, building labourer and postal worker.
I am currently undertaking doctoral studies exploring governance networks at the sub-regional level, with a specific focus on how such networks promote community engagement and involvement to transform localities.
My doctoral team is:
Dr Clare Williams

&
Dr Michael Cunningham

My research interests centre on devolution, governance networks at the sub-regional level, and how these networks include and promote community participation and involvement in decision making processes, and prioritise health & wellbeing.
