Sport and Exercise Science - Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology.
I joined the University of Wolverhampton in January 2015 having previously held visiting posts at two other universities. For my PhD research I used ultrasound imaging to measure the age-related performance of the deep abdominal muscles in addition to extending a tissue-engineered model of ageing skeletal muscle that mimicked the conditions from the ultrasound work. I have presented the results of my research to peers at both national and international conferences.
At the Institute of Human Sciences I teach on undergraduate modules in biomechanics, exercise physiology as well as research and statistical analysis. I am the module leader for 4SR055 ‘Fundamentals of Sport, Health and Exercise Science’, 4SR053 'Contemporary Issues in Sport, Health and Exercise' and 5SR023 ‘Research Methods and Analytical Procedures’.

I have many years’ experience working as an exercise professional for a local authority leisure provider. During this time I supported the local medical referral scheme and provided exercise guidance for people exercising with medical conditions.
I have previously provided support for athletes at large sports events including the London Marathon and London Triathlon.
