I have a blend of both academic and industrial experiences; this brings the most valuable learning experience to my students in terms of preparing them for their industrial engagements after University. In my vast experience working as Finance Manager at French Squared Social Enterprise CIC, I was responsible in portfolio risk assessment, investment appraisal, fund management, risk management, contract bidding, bank reconciliation, budgeting, credit monitoring and company accounts. This employment afforded me the opportunity to gain vital industrial network (which enabled me to interact with all kinds of stakeholders – including the Board of Directors, client associations and regulators in the UK). Knowledge from my previous employment in the industry also has enabled me to better support students at the higher education level, as I can blend academic knowledge with practical applications – a capacity which is vital for their post-graduation engagement.
