In my role as a senior lecturer in adult nursing, I teach all types of students from pre to post-registration in nursing on various subjects in nursing, advanced clinical practice and acute care, human anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, research, clinical nursing practice in general, and various other subjects in nursing and healthcare. I currently teach postgraduate nursing and healthcare. I enjoy teaching health professionals and the advancement of clinical practice. In addition, I supervise research on BSc, Masters and PhD/Doctoral degrees.

I have a Professional Doctorate in Health and Wellbeing (DProfHW) and a Masters degree in Clinical Studies and Education, combined with the Postgraduate Certificate in Health and Social Care Education (PgCHSCE). I am a registered lecturer with the Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA) and with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Nurse (Adult) and Registered Nurse Tutor (RNT). I am a Senior Fellow with the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). I have always been interested in teaching nurses and health professionals since I became a nurse. I plan to research and provide patient care in clinical settings throughout my career.

I appreciate research in every academic field, and more importantly, research should not concentrate only on one's field of expertise. This made me look further afield when I did my award-winning thesis. In my contribution to nursing knowledge, I incorporated philosophy, history, politics and information from other fields to understand agency in nursing fully. However, in academia, intellectual contribution to one's field of study through research publication defines impact. Nevertheless, the impact is not just on academic scholarship and productivity but also real-world influence. It speaks to whether research endeavours and their findings hold sufficient meaning to make a difference in human life. In disseminating research, I have presented at local and international conferences. The research I am involved in is not always about nursing practice; it is also related and applicable to various epistemic knowledges in all fields of research, other professions and life.
