I have a particular interest in the use of occupational therapy within innovative, developing and emerging areas, the intersection between physical and mental health and wellbeing, and the development of occupational identity with application to service users and occupational therapy professional development.
I am an Occupational Therapist practitioner and lecturer and joined the Occupational Therapy team at Wolverhampton University in October 2021. I continue to work as an occupational therapist within independent practice and combine work on my teaching and academic interests with ongoing clinical experience.
I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2005 at Oxford Brookes University and following this moved to the West Midlands and have enjoyed a varied and diverse career within health services around the region.
I have worked within the NHS, private healthcare and independent practice and my clinical experience includes work across the life span including adults and children. I am also experienced in the application of occupational therapy principles with people with a range of diagnosis within inpatient and community services for people with physical health conditions, mental health needs and learning disabilities.
I am interested in concepts of occupational identity and the interface between mental and physical wellbeing.
