I am currently a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Education, Health and Well Being (Adult Field Nursing). I am also a Practice Education Lead Link for Wolverhampton Health Economy. I have a background in acute adult and paediatric clinical practice at different levels in various healthcare settings and pre-registration practice education management in various healthcare settings.
I hold the professional qualifications of RN Adult and RN Child. In addition I have an MSc in Health Studies, undertaken with University of Wolverhampton and completed in September 2013. My independent evidence-based project explored and analysed the evidence surrounding and supporting the Year 1 student nurse transition from the academic arena into clinical practice.
My current role requires me support and educate pre-registration student nurses. Investing in the future nursing workforce to ensure; the fit for purpose, fit for practice agenda is met, employability post registration and a development of a workforce prepared for the challenges, diversity and technology required of the 21st Century Nurse and future healthcare provision.
