  • Areas of expertise General care of elderly people in general hospital, dementia and delirium

My nursing background is in general and psychiatric nursing. I have gained particular experience in the care of older people with dementia, depression and delirium. My post-qualifying clinical experience began in 1980, working as a staff nurse on medical and surgical wards. As a charge nurse, I worked in both hospital and community settings. My interest in the care of older people has continued throughout my career and I have been extensively engaged in the teaching of pre-registrant and post-graduate nursing colleagues. I am a member of the Dementia Steering Group at the Walsall Health Care NHS Trust.
