I am a Senior Lecturer in Secondary Education, and the pathway leader for Secondary Art and Design Technology, and I have been with the University of Wolverhampton for 5 years in my current role. My professional experience prior to this comprises a 13-year teaching career in Secondary Education, where I have formerly been a Head of Department of a large IT/Computing team, and prior to this, I have held various teaching and learning responsibilities in Birmingham comprehensive schools. I am a fully trained teacher training mentor and I am responsible for the training of new Art and Design Technology teachers on a range of ITT programmes, including both undergraduate, postgraduate and school-based routes, having also previously trained humanities trainees in these programmes too in recent years. I also lead the department in the delivery of Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) courses and I plan, lead and run an SKE course in Secondary Computing. In previous years, I have also provided CPD to schools in both the primary and secondary sector on a range of IT/Computing related themes, including e-Safety, 14-19 qualifications advice and subject knowledge support. Prior to beginning my current role, I worked with the University of Wolverhampton on our teacher training programmes for several years, and have been able to contribute to previous OfSTED inspections as well as acting as a teacher moderator for the PGCE programme. I also worked part time for 3 years as a Visiting Lecturer at the University during the summer months.
