Dr Chris Kite is an early career researcher and a senior lecturer of public health and health studies at the University of Wolverhampton. Following a lifelong interest in sport, Chris was awarded first-class honours in his BSc Sport and Exercise Science degree, followed by a distinction at MRes level from the University of Wolverhampton. It was during employment as a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Wolverhampton that Chris gained his PGCE, and the focus of his teaching and research interests shifted from sport to health. Accordingly, Chris teaches on undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes on the Health Studies programme, supervises project students  and assessing students in a range of assessments. 

Chris completed his PhD at Aston University (2021) which investigated the effectiveness of exercise as a treatment strategy in the management of women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). He has collaborated on international research projects, and supervised numerous postgraduate projects to completion, leading to a growing body of published work. Alongside his senior lecturer role, Chris holds honorary research posts at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, Coventry University, and Chester Medical School where his research on exercise in the management PCOS, and other metabolic conditions has continued.

Chris was previously a placement co-ordinator for a health and exercise undergraduate programme. This role was utilised to develop strong partnerships with relevant external stakeholders for student placements, but also in the development and evaluation of new cancer rehabilitation and falls prevention services across Shropshire and Powys.

Chris is currently delivering patient facing weight management interventions for local NHS trusts - alongside patient education and instruction, Chris places an emphasis on developing social support groups to nurture positive results.
