Alaa is a holder of a PhD in Civil Engineering & Sustainable Construction Materials. He is also a holder of an MSc Waste Management and a BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering. Alaa has completed a Postgraduate Certificate (PG Cert) in Academic Practice in Higher Education.
Alaa started his employment with the University of Wolverhampton in 2010 as a researcher and is currently a Principal Lecturer and Module Leader of several engineering topics including Hydraulics, Fundamentals of Geotechnics, Water Resources & Supply, and Mathematics for Technologists. He is also the Course Leader for the BEng (Hons) Civil and Transportation Engineering Degree Apprenticeship.
Furthermore, he has an extensive work experience in several Civil Engineering fields including Water/Wastewater Engineering, Hydraulics, Geotechnics, Building Construction, Structural Analysis & Design, Quality Assurance, Health & Safety, and Finance & Project Management.
