Postgraduate Taught Courses and Professional Doctorates

Click through the steps below to find out how to apply for a postgraduate taught course or a professional doctorate.

Please note: there are a small number of postgraduate courses where applications are made via UCAS or organisations other than the University. You will automatically be redirected when clicking on ‘Apply Now’ on the course page.

Step 1

Check the entry requirements

Found a course you’re interested in? Use our Course Finder to take a look at the course’s ‘Entry requirements’ section. Read it carefully before you apply to make sure you understand what qualifications and experience our admissions team are looking for.

Step 2

Make a start

Click on ‘Apply Now’ on your course page to get started. Once you’ve created a log-in for e:Vision, the University’s student administration system, you’ll be able to start work on your application – including the personal statement.

Step 3

Sell yourself

Take this opportunity to make an impression and enhance your application by telling us about your relevant experience, personal qualities and future plans. Remember to complete all sections in full and relate things, as much as possible, to the course or subject you have chosen. Be yourself: it is important that your application is your own work.

Step 4

Check – and check again

Take your time – although we advise you to apply as far ahead of the deadline as possible, don’t rush your application. You can save it then come back to it later before you make a final submission (at which point it can’t be changed), so read and re-read it to catch any errors and check for accuracy. Look out for the course start date at the top of the course page – in some cases, applications right up to this date may be accepted.

Step 5

Talk to an expert

Do you have questions? Unsure about how to proceed? Get in touch – we are happy to help. Postgraduate Open Evenings provide the perfect forum to ask questions and run throughout the year. Alternatively, you can drop in to The Gateway or call on: +44 (0)1902 321 032.

Good luck! Once your application is complete, you will receive a unique student reference and we’ll contact you with updates on the status of your application. You may be required to submit additional information or attend an interview.
