New language scheme highlighted

20/05/2009

The University of Wolverhampton is hosting a free session for teachers on Tuesday, 26 May 2009 at Wolverhampton Science Park, from 10am until 12noon.

The Junior Cambridge University Language Programme (CULP) is geared towards less motivated students to encourage them to continue studying languages at GCSE level. It gives groups of students the opportunity to study a language which is usually not available in their own schools.

Schools in and around Cambridge are currently involved in the programme. The workshop organised by Language Networks for Excellence at the University will outline how the programme works and explore ways for it to be replicated in other areas.

Places are limited, so to book a place or for further details please call 01902 518969.

Further information

Junior CULP has been running since 2004 and was created with the 14+ age group in mind. It was initially developed in association with the Government’s Department for Children, Schools and Families.
