Our support services remain available both on campus and remotely.

As we near the Easter period, please be mindful that some areas of support will be offering a reduced service. Whilst the University will be closed on Friday 29 March, and Monday 1 April, the libraries will be operating a reduced service

Student Life

Student Life offers support on disability and inclusion, mental health & wellbeing, and hardship funding.  We offer on campus drops, as below, as well as bookable one to one meetings. 

Easter opening 

Please note that the Drop-ins will not be available over the Easter period (25 March - 5 April 2024) with the Drop-ins to re-commence on Monday 8 April 2024. In the meantime, you can continue to email us for support on the team contact information under ‘Book a meeting’.

Wellbeing Champion drop-ins

Wellbeing Champions are student volunteers who take the lead with wellbeing by actively promoting and supporting wellbeing activities and services at the University of Wolverhampton. They help to deliver a wide range of public health campaigns to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities. They are at the heart of the University's commitment to transforming lives and 
communities.

Meet your Wellbeing Champions weekly at a drop-in session

  • Venue: City Campus
  • Wednesdays 1pm-3pm Lord Swraj Paul, Business School (MU), every 1st and 3rd week of the month
  • Thursdays 1pm -3pm Harrison Library, Ambika Paul Building (MD), every 2nd and 4th week of the month.

Walk & Talk

  • Join the Wellbeing Champs' 'Walk & Talk' sessions every Friday to get outdoors and meet new people.
  • Fridays 12.15pm at the Student Union Lounge (by the Sports Centre reception, City Campus.)

 

WLV Student Life Connect: Care first 

All students can access WLV Student Life Connect platform, provided by our partners at Care first. This is a FREE, CONFIDENTIAL, INDEPENDENT, and IMPARTIAL source of support for you, as an undergraduate, postgraduate taught, postgraduate research student, or an apprentice learner.

Library services over Easter and the assessment period 

Information about Library opening hours over the Easter period is available on the Library’s Easter opening hours webpage.  

Desktop PCs in all the libraries are now available for student use.  The team is working to get the laptop loan system operational as soon as possible.  Priority loans will be for students who had already made a request prior to the current IT issues. 

The Skills for Learning Team is available throughout the assessment period to offer support with assignments and exams.  More information is available on this Exam support webpage. 

Free tea and coffee are available during the assessment period in the libraries. 

 

ASK@WLV 

Easter opening: Please note, that over the Easter period ASK will be closed on Friday 29 March and will reopen on Wednesday 3 April at 10am. 

Students can call ASK@WLV for advice or support on the normal number, 01902 518518, between 10 am and 4.30 pm; or log a help call or help yourself to FAQs on e:vision, at any time. 

You can also drop in and speak to a member of the ASK@WLV team, between 9 am -5 pm at any of our campus locations:

  • City Campus in the Ambika Paul Building, next to the Harrison Library.
  • Walsall Campus in the foyer area of the Performance Hub, next to the Library.
  • Telford Campus on the ground floor of the Darby Building.

 

Academic Coaches

Your Academic Coaches are available to you on campus. All three faculties have merged to provide support from MI024 in the Alan Turin Building to ensure that we can continue to provide support to you.

  • City Campus: Whilst the IT disruption is being resolved, the Academic Coaches for all three faculties at City Campus will be based in MI024 (Alan Turin Building). This is to ensure that support can be provided to you accordingly. 
  • Walsall Campus: The Academic Coaches will be based in the canteen where temporary Wi-Fi has been setup. The current allocated time for this is 10.30am-4pm.

FABSS events and activities 

The following programme of events is arranged by the Faculty of Arts and Business Studies Studies, but ALL STUDENTS are welcome to join in, regardless of which course you are on. All events take place outside MU202, Lord Swraj Paul Business School, City Campus North, unless stated as online, via Teams. Email fabsscoaches@wlv.ac.uk for joining links or more information.

Students' Union 

The Students’ Union advice centre remains open and available by phone, online and in person at City Campus. They can advise on issues including wellbeing, academic, housing and signposting financial support.
