University to host media taster day

13/10/2014

The University’s School of Media is hosting a day of activities for sixth form students and teachers to showcase its Media, Film and Broadcasting courses and facilities.

The taster day will take place at the University’s City Campus on Molineux Street, on October 24 and run from 9.30am until 3.30pm.

The day will showcase an exciting range of degree courses that are becoming increasingly important in the modern world such as Media studies, Film Studies and Broadcasting and Journalism.

Workshops and taster sessions will be open for college and sixth form students to get a true perspective of studying a media degree at the University of Wolverhampton.

Pritpal Sembi, Head of Film, Media and Broadcasting said: "We're hosting this Taster Day because we offer a number of exciting courses delivered using facilities that our prospective students are not aware of.

“We teach Film Studies in a real cinema and our Broadcasting and Journalism degree has access to dedicated production facilities and media industry professionals.

“Our combination of hands-on, practical courses along with more theory based approaches benefit each individual student, so they can get the skills and experience they require for their future careers in the media industry.”

The University aims to provide attendees with an overview of their courses, facilities, teaching staff, career opportunities, graduate profiles and much more.

Lunch will also be provided during the full day event.
