University Lecturer to visit art display

Ben Kelly, lecturer of Art and Design at University of WolverhamptonBen Kelly has been invited by Clark Art Ltd to take part in an exhibition of Northern art at Manchester City’s Etihad stadium.

 ‘A Northern Perspective’ is set to be the largest exhibition of northern school art, ever held in Manchester.

Ben created a series of paintings when he was Artist in Residence at Manchester City in 2009.

The talented artist documented the match day experience through his artwork which culminated in a show of his paintings displayed at the Manchester City Museum and the National Football Museum.

Ben Kelly, Senior Lecturer in Visual Communication said, "It’s fantastic to see my Artwork back at the Etihad stadium again.

“When my work is being recognised, it provides a sense of ambition to Art and Design students, showing them the type of achievements they too can accomplish.”

Over 80 major artists’ work will be on display alongside Ben Kelly including; L.S. Lowry, Helen Bradley, Adolphe Valette, Theodore Major, Alan Lowndes, Braaq, Peter Brook, Harold Riley, Geoffrey Key, John Thompson, Fred Yates, Trevor Grimshaw and many more.

Paintings will be displayed at the luxurious chairman’s lounge at The Etihad where by guests are able to browse the exclusive suite and admire the artwork on show.

The event will take place from Friday 13 June until Monday 16 June 2014.
