University hosts an Evening with Dougal Irvine
Musical Theatre Network and the University are jointly hosting the event at the University’s Performance Hub, Walsall Campus, where Dougal will share songs and craft from his career as a composer and writer.
Dougal will perform songs from his work, Departure Lounge, Britain’s Got Bhangra and The Busker’s Opera, alongside students on the BA (Hons) Musical Theatre course. The evening offers a practitioner’s view on just what it takes to write a musical and there will also be an opportunity for a question and answer session with the composer.
Sarah Browne, Course Leader for Musical Theatre, said: “This promises to be a fascinating evening with one of musical theatre’s rising stars. It is a real coup for the department as these sort of opportunities are usually only to be found in London based conservatoire courses.”
The event is at 7pm on Monday (April 7) and is free to Music Theatre National Members. For more information call 01902 322795
