Business appointment for Director

A University of Wolverhampton Director has taken on a new role focused on increasing business engagement in the city.

Nigel Babb, Director of Strategic Developments, has been elected as Vice President for Wolverhampton Nigel BabbChamber of Commerce in addition to his role on the Chamber’s Board.

Nigel will assist Wolverhampton President Mike Priddy and the Wolverhampton Board in achieving their goals, which include increasing business engagement across all levels and sizes of business.

He will also continue to promote the case of young people in terms of gaining the skills and training required for a successful entry into the place of work.

The appointment aligns with the University’s new Enterprise and Employability strategy, which is focused on supporting students to develop employability skills and supporting graduates to develop their employment options.

Nigel said: “It is important that local companies are able to innovate to exploit the exciting opportunities in and around Wolverhampton; not only by improving competitiveness in product/service design and delivery but also by ensuring they invest in a skilled workforce to realise such innovations in the future.

“The University has a wealth of resources available to help companies in both aspects so I am happy to be working with the Wolverhampton Board to focus on such issues and increase the reach of the excellent work the Chamber does in the Black Country.”
