Triple hope for Shropshire companies

The companies are nominated for Shropshire Business Awards after working with the University on its Knowledge Transfer Partnerships programme.

The awards ceremony is due to take place on Friday, June 4 2010 at the Telford International Centre and will play host to over 800 people.

The three companies are Tough Furniture Ltd in Craven Arms, Fairfield Displays and Lighting in Shrewsbury and Eurofilms Extrusion Ltd in Telford. They took part in classic Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, where a recent graduate is placed in a company to work on a project of strategic importance.

Tough Furniture and Fairfield are both shortlisted in the Technology, Enterprise and Innovation category and Eurofilms in the Best Employer category.

David Williams, the KTP Associate at Eurofilms Extrusion Ltd said: "Eurofilms is delighted to have been shortlisted for this award in recognition of the way we recruit, train and reward our employees. Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) is a UK-wide programme enabling organisations to improve their competitiveness, productivity and performance through a partnership with an academic institution.
